You Have Been Pre-Approved

approved-29149__180Pre-accepted? Junk mail arrives on a weekly basis with promises on the envelope like “You have been pre-approved for this offer.”  In the past, I thought “If they only knew my credit score, they would save postage and stop sending these! Don’t they realize I’m not a good credit risk? I won’t get the real card. They say I’m approved, but will they extend the credit to me? When can I spend the money?”

You have been told that God loves you, but do you believe that He pre-accepted you? At best, most people just think that God only tolerates them because Jesus is holding Him back in the corner. This idea could not be further from the truth.

Even in your current state of deficit, God didn’t check your credit score before extending the offer of His Love.  What’s the offer? (If you can’t wait, take a quick peek at the last sentence of this article.)

He said, “…even when we were dead through our trespasses, He made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved)” -Eph 2:5 ASV

And in the same book, we find that you are “accepted in the beloved.”

In this verse of Ephesians 1:6, the Wuest Word Studies says that the word “Beloved” is referring to the Lord Jesus, and is the translation of a Greek verb “to love” (agapaō). This is a participle in the perfect tense that speaks of an action completed in past time that has present, and in a context like this one, permanent results. It speaks of the fact that God the Father has always loved God the Son with an absolute love, which is a permanent attitude on His part.

He developed an attitude of acceptance for you before your birth.

The Mirror Bible renders it like this: “His grace-plan is to be celebrated: he greatly endeared us and highly favored us in Christ. His love for his Son is his love for us.”

His Love for Jesus is His Love for You. He had loved Him before you were born.  You are greatly endeared and pre-approved for His Love.

The Message Bible says that “He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.”

Receive the gift of being set free from filth, guilt, shame and sins of the past. You might be saying “I’m not acceptable. I have to pay something. Check my credit score again! God, you must have made a mistake.” Here is the absolute truth though…it is not a mistake and the offer is substantial.

Our financial example is limited when compared to the way God does things. With God, the terms and conditions have been met. You get the card and all the benefits, and the price has been paid by Jesus.

What is the offer? The very Life of Jesus. The same Life that raised Him from the dead living inside you. Take the deal.
