Eph 1:19-20 What is the EXCEEDING greatness to US who believe. We have Gods greatness, but not just a little. It says it is exceeding greatness. Now just a bit of Gods greatness would still overthrow anything the devil has. But our God doesn’t understand or operate in a mentality of just enough. He is a God that fills cups to overflowing, an exceedingly abundantly God, a press down, shaken together type of God, a life MORE abundant God. Do you see a pattern here? And how is this? By your works? Service to Him? Years you’ve gone to church? Just how much you love, love, love Jesus? No, it’s according to the working of His mighty power that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead! Now that’s resurrection power. That’s demon whipping, wheelchair tipping, cancer destroying, pain driven out power. To us who believe. ” We’ll, I don’t believe that.” That’s ok, then you won’t be bothered with it, but I believe, how about you?
Good Friday, Resurrection Sunday… What about Saturday? The devils plan was simple enough, Get the people to turn on Jesus, have Him killed and when dead, He would then go back to glory with His Father and no longer be here, on earth, to stop his plans. I’m sure the devil had assembled all the “big boys” on the day Jesus was crucified. It must had seemed like an odd statement to satan when Jesus asked His Father, ” Why has thou forsaken me?” Jesus, for the 1st time, could not feel the presence of His Father due to the weight of our sins upon Him. But Jesus finally gives up the ghost and at that moment a short lived celebration began in the pits of Hell. But suddenly, as the devil is looking up, he realizes that Jesus is coming down! Oh what a shock it must had been, as Jesus, the very Son of the Living God, crashed Hells party! “What’s He doing down here?!!” It did not take Jesus 3 days to secure the keys of death, hell and the grave, no, there was a SATURDAY, where Jesus ruled over all principalities and powers and made a show of the openly! Jesus held a parade in hell and lined up all the who’s, who, and paraded them right through the belly of hell. Once He was finished utterly whipping a that hell had to offer, then it was resurrection time. Do not forget the ” Saturday” (please, I know it probably was not really a Saturday, don’t miss the point!) but do not forget that Jesus took care of business for you on this day. Without this day, you would have no resurrection day! Just imagine Jesus parading those oh sought I demons around, riding on their backs! This is YOUR victory!
We all love fresh foods. Fresh veggies, meats, fruits..it all taste better and it’s better for you. No one would go to the store and ask, ” Where are last weeks fruits, that’s what I want?” No we want the most fresh produce to help our bodies. But how about the Spirit man, the REAL YOU? Do we want the fresh meat of the word? Or, are you happy with last years word? Hebrews 11 says, ” now faith is…” NOW. To have a fresh (now) faith, you need a fresh ( now) word. Romans 10:17 says, ” … Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the WORD OF GOD.” You need to hear the word for TODAY, fresh for you right now. I’m not talking about a word from a preacher… Get into THE WORD, your bible, today and get a fresh word from a NOW God. He has the best for you today. Not yesterday’s word, He has one NOW! Do it today.
I remember when I was younger and my dad was a pastor of a little church in our town. One night someone had broken in and not just stole from the place but they defiled it! They tore stuff up, knocked things over, broke a few things but even worse than that, they used the pews as a toilet, if you know what I mean! The pure outrage from the church members and community was as expected. How dare someone do such a thing to a church? But how soon we forget that the bible says that WE are the temples ( church) of the Holy Spirit. And yet we allow the devil to come in and break things, knock things over and treat us like a baby treats a diaper! We don’t get too upset about it, we just go on. It happens over and over. We would never allow this to happen to a building! AND we would never think to blame the Pastor for the destruction! But sometimes God allows people to be sick..blah, blah, blah! Yes, let’s create a beautiful temple and then let’s let our enemies come and destroy it! Hmm, that sounds logical! (SARCASM) no, it’s time to take care of THE TEMPLES and no longer allow the enemy to destroy them. Get mad, and stop this attack NOW!
” My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. I make a demand on my body to release the right chemicals. My body is in perfect balance. This temple has no broken windows, leaking plumbing, or squeaking floors. It it a perfect house of worship for God.”
And my language and my message were not set forth in persuasive (enticing and plausible) words of wisdom, but they were in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit and power [a proof by the Spirit and power of God, operating on me and stirring in the minds of my hearers the most holy emotions and thus persuading them], So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God.
I was reminded in healing school today of Donnie preaching about the power cord (click here for previous post)…
I so love that analogy:
The Power of God is accessed by plugging into the outlet
You are the cord
The Outlet’s power is at 100% so the Power in the cord is 100%
You have 100% Power to give out!
Thayer definition of power in the New Testament:
inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth
power for performing miracles
Today you have miracle working power (100%) in you to perform miracles
Luke 17:11-12, “It came to pass as He went to Jerusalem, that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.” 12. ” And entered into a certain village there…” Jesus was headed to Jerusalem but as He passed through these other towns, there was a divine connection about to be made. The story goes on to tell us that in one of the towns was 10 lepers. They happen to see Jesus and cried out for Him to heal them. We know how the story ends: Jesus healed them all! This was a diving passing through. His destination was Jerusalem but God had already seen those lepers there and had them in the right spot to receive a miracle. This Sunday night, we will experience another DIVINE PASSING THROUGH. My wife and I wanted to take our children to Navarre Beach in Florida. Our oldest will graduate in May so we wanted one more vacation with her before she starts he new journeys. We mapped out the route and saw that it takes us through Mobile Alabama and right into the panhandle of Florida. Suddenly, as I am looking at this map, the spirit of God spoke to me and said, ” Stop in Mobile and pray for the sick.” Say what? Well, I heard exactly what He said, but how? Who? Where? What? I’ve never come and just stopped somewhere and announce that I will be praying for the sick! Shouldn’t there be a pastor inviting me to church to speak and they can advertise it and then people will come? No, this is a divine passing through! As I posted it on Facebook, suddenly emails began to come in, phone calls, text messages, of those who wanted to know time and place. God has now put together a divinely orchestrated plan to set captives free! We have people meeting us from Mississippi, Florida, Alabama and Georgia! People with Cancers, sicknesses, diseases, lumps, bumps, pain, chronic illness, all coming together at the University of south Alabama at the pavilion next to the intramural fields. Come and join us at 4 pm. I’m telling you this is a divine opportunity to be in the right place at the right time just like those 10 lepers. Come join us and bring some sick people with you. It’s our time… For our thing… From our God! Let’s get God on the scene in 2013!
We have all heard the term, ” Just do it!” We recognize that as a slogan for a very popular athletic shoe company. But it was not invented by some slick NY ad company. No, actually Mary, the mother of Jesus coined this term. Jesus was at a wedding in Galilee and they had just ran out of wine. Mary said to the servants standing by, ” Whatever He says, Just do it!” This is the first miracle Jesus worked.
This is still great advice for you today. Are you believing for a miracle in your life? Well, that same Jesus is with you and you should hear the words of His mother ringing in your ears, ” Whatever He says, JUST DO IT!” Which means no more, no less. Not what doctrine says, opinion says, theology says or man says. What has the master said? Just do it!
This is more of an announcement than anything else. I will be driving through the Mobile Alabama area at the end of this month and will be making an afternoon stop there to pray for the sick. I already have a group who will be gathering there from Florida and Alabama. This is just a ( random) spirit led stop! Just one afternoon. Do not miss this! Time and location soon. If interested contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 573-216-1871. I do not know the area well but we will find a spot or do it in a parking lot, I do not care, just get there and be set free!
In Mark 5 we see a woman who has suffered for 12 years. Spent all her money and is now getting progressively worse. This same story is playing over a million times right now. People who are sick and suffering and have not found any relief from medical science. It says in vrs 27 that this woman heard about Jesus! It was enough to build her faith. See, true faith drives you to action. Faith without works is dead. So many hear of Jesus and think its like the Wizard of Oz. just click your heels and everything’s going to be ok! No, this woman got out of the house, found Jesus and I believe she would had knocked someone down to just get to the hem of Him. She got in there and she grabbed that hem. She didn’t just brush up against it. That’s what most do at the hem. Just seeing IF Jesus MIGHT do something. Click your heels. You’ll get just as much out of that as you will hoping and wishing Jesus will heal you. No, lay hold of the promise you have heard about healing. Grab on and do not let go until you hear, ” Your faith has made you whole!”
” I just wish God would heal me.” I can’t tell you how many thousands of times I have heard that statement or something close to it. ” If God would just…..” Look, here is the deal. The Bible says in John 14 that the Holy Spirit is the HELPER among other things. Then in James your Bible says, ” ( You) Be ye DOERS of the word and not hearers only.” We have our roles mixed up. We sit back doing nothing, hoping God will do something. “Oh Lord if you would just do this then I could do…” WRONG! You are to look to the word of God, DO what it says, and only after you DO, then can there be something to HELP with! If God is gonna do it, then that makes the Holy Spirit the doer and you the helper! Won’t work. Bible methods bring Bible results. Get in the word today and initiate your faith and THEN the Helper will come right in.
