New Terms and Conditions

Can you keep up with all the changes?  Your bank.  Your credit cards. App updates. The software you are using right now.   They push the latest changes to the service Terms and Conditions to you and demand that you hit the “I Agree” button to continue using the product.  Have you ever read the terms?  You trust the company or want to use the product bad enough that you agree with their lawyers without understanding what you are signing.  That risk is no surprise anyone who has a 30-year mortgage and has done the same.  Your agent and the title company said it was fine.  Buying your house was a life changing decision that you made based on trust.  You have trust.  You have enough faith to make these agreements and proved it by putting your signature on the last page.

Do you agree with the New Terms and Conditions that God set in place for you to receive?

The writer of Hebrews says that, “…He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) of which He is the Mediator (the Arbiter, Agent) is superior and more excellent, [because] it is enacted and rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises.

You have an agent that didn’t just read the agreement to you but completed and sealed it with blood and Resurrection Life.

The Mirror Bible translates the same verse as, “Jesus is now the fulfillment of all those promises towards which the old practices were merely pointing; as when an arrow strikes the bulls-eye. The dispensation he now administers is far superior to the old. He is the arbitrator of a more effective covenant; sanctioned by its being an announcement of far greater benefit to mankind.”

And the condition part?

Therefore, if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
(2Co 5:17 Amplified Bible)  And in Hebrews 12:24, “And to Jesus, the Mediator (Go-between, Agent) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks [of mercy], a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel [which cried out for vengeance].

The agreement comes with new Life for you. This is your notice of the new terms and conditions.  They are unchangeable, and verified.  You have the capacity to trust the Mediator.  Are you ready to agree?

You Have Been Pre-Approved

approved-29149__180Pre-accepted? Junk mail arrives on a weekly basis with promises on the envelope like “You have been pre-approved for this offer.”  In the past, I thought “If they only knew my credit score, they would save postage and stop sending these! Don’t they realize I’m not a good credit risk? I won’t get the real card. They say I’m approved, but will they extend the credit to me? When can I spend the money?”

You have been told that God loves you, but do you believe that He pre-accepted you? At best, most people just think that God only tolerates them because Jesus is holding Him back in the corner. This idea could not be further from the truth.

Even in your current state of deficit, God didn’t check your credit score before extending the offer of His Love.  What’s the offer? (If you can’t wait, take a quick peek at the last sentence of this article.)

He said, “…even when we were dead through our trespasses, He made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved)” -Eph 2:5 ASV

And in the same book, we find that you are “accepted in the beloved.”

In this verse of Ephesians 1:6, the Wuest Word Studies says that the word “Beloved” is referring to the Lord Jesus, and is the translation of a Greek verb “to love” (agapaō). This is a participle in the perfect tense that speaks of an action completed in past time that has present, and in a context like this one, permanent results. It speaks of the fact that God the Father has always loved God the Son with an absolute love, which is a permanent attitude on His part.

He developed an attitude of acceptance for you before your birth.

The Mirror Bible renders it like this: “His grace-plan is to be celebrated: he greatly endeared us and highly favored us in Christ. His love for his Son is his love for us.”

His Love for Jesus is His Love for You. He had loved Him before you were born.  You are greatly endeared and pre-approved for His Love.

The Message Bible says that “He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.”

Receive the gift of being set free from filth, guilt, shame and sins of the past. You might be saying “I’m not acceptable. I have to pay something. Check my credit score again! God, you must have made a mistake.” Here is the absolute truth though…it is not a mistake and the offer is substantial.

Our financial example is limited when compared to the way God does things. With God, the terms and conditions have been met. You get the card and all the benefits, and the price has been paid by Jesus.

What is the offer? The very Life of Jesus. The same Life that raised Him from the dead living inside you. Take the deal.

Is Your Brain Failing You?

Is Your Brain Failing You?

Are we talking about going senile? Dementia? Alzheimer’s disease?  Or just simply getting so busy that you forget what your spouse told you to pick up at the store?

None of the above.

What happens when your mind fails to lead you in the right direction? What are you going to do on those days that your brain tells you a couple of  lies that starts with, “You are alone” and ends with “You are not good enough for God?”

I don’t need to convince you that your brain is not 100% reliable.  You already though that without my help.  If it makes you feel better, you are not the only one with this problem.  Shortly after Jesus’ resurrection, Paul addressed this false idea of separation in his letter to the church:

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Col 1:21-22 KJV

At times, your mind is going to tell you that your failures are keeping you from being close to God.  It’s just in your head. He sees you as faultless.

His redemption is greater than a fleeting thought of unworthiness.  The work of Jesus was enough to overcome your thoughts and memories of your failures. His choice is to hang out with you in spite of your brain.

The memories of your failure help you maintain a sense of separation.Your works, your failures, your shortcomings are all smoke screens that keep you from seeing yourself as complete and perfect like He does.  Blameless, holy, and irreproachable.

Of these words, Kenneth Wuest says in his word studies;

“To present” is paristēmi, “to place beside or near, to present, to proffer.” In Rom_12:2 it is used of presenting our bodies as a sacrifice. “Holy” is hagios. The fundamental idea in this word is separation to God and from worldly defilement. “Unblamable” is amōmos, “without blemish,” like an O.T. animal sacrifice free from defects, without blemish. “Unreprovable” is anegklētos, “not only free from the blemish but from the charge of it” (Vincent).

God sees you near Him, free from blame, and free from blemish. No Defects. Don’t let your mind tell you any different.
